The fresh water that we drink is only 1 percent of the total volume of water that exists on earth. The most widely amount is the sea water. With only 1 percent, water quality continues to decline because the above mentioned factors. On the other hand, human populations are increasing rapidly, which means the need for clean water is also increasing. Based on data from World Health Organization (WHO), the increase in human popoulation as much as 3 times will result in the need of clean water increased by 6 times.
To obtain water quality, in term of pollution-free, deep groundwater is the best water sources. Intake of water in the deep ground does not require filtration and disinfection process for water has been through the process naturally. Besides, water is also undergoing a process of mineralization by a layer of rock that is beneath the ground. During the flow of seeping into the deep ground, water also transports minerals from rocks in its path.
Minerals which are conceived by water from the deep ground depend on the geographic location where the water flows. However, there are at least nine major mineral content of water, especially water that comes from the mountains, which are: magnesium, calcium, fluoride, sodium, copper, selenium, potassium, silica, and zinc. Magnesium and calcium help the work of the heart and blood vessels. Fluoride prevents tooth karieas. Copper serves as an antioxidant. Selenium serves to maintain immunity. Potassium and sodium play the role to the nervous system. Silica to prevent bone loss, and zinc play a role in the formation of the cell nucleus and proteins.
Water not only helps the metabolism of food substances, but also as a transport medium, solvents, lubricants, bearings, regulating body temperature, and media spending waste materials. If we consume water without any mineral content, water will take important mineral in our body cells that can cause the cells to be damaged. When lack of water, our health will be disordered, ranging from reduced consciousness, visual memory, concentration, headaches, and kidney stones.
